Why Quality Countertops Matter

Countertops can make or break your kitchen! It is important to have quality countertops that will survive the test of time. There are some standard materials we use for creating custom countertops that are made to last.  That is why quality countertops matter when you want a lasting product.

Why Quality Countertops Matter
These materials are:

  • Engineered Granite
  • Granite
  • Marble
  • Recycled Glass
  • Plastic laminate

There are many different benefits to each one.  For example, some are heat resistant and some are anti-bacterial. Most of these materials can be installed very quickly and mess-free (except marble and granite – the high maintenance materials of the counter family).

Alternative materials (less standard) that can be used are concrete, ceramic tile, and wood.

Brown Close Up

People have the mistaken perception that wood can harbor bacteria on its surface but this has been proven false by many different university studies. Wood countertops do get worn down with time though so this would only be a solution for style rather than durability.

All of these options are very resistant to stains and scratches. They are completely renewable and if need be, repairable.

As it comes to cost, granite and marble are on the higher end, recycled glass is the middle ground and then laminate is on the lower end.
